Our Story

Tolu and I met in New Haven, Connecticut during the summer of 2012. A couple of chance conversations led to our first date: on wheels no less, not to a restaurant or to the movies, but a biking adventure to East Rock, New Haven's precious jewel. I remember how exicited I was to start my first biking adventure and see the spectacular view at the top that I had been hearing so much about around town. We had such a fun time together trying to race each other to get to the top and sharing fun stories during our ride.

It was the perfect first date: spending time outdoors, taking photos and sharing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches prepared by Tolu.

I really enjoyed spending one on one time with Tolu and I felt very comfortable in his presence. As challenging as the bike ride was to East Rock, I knew I had nothing to fear when I was with him. Somehow, I felt safe and protected by someone I was just starting to know. I could not have found a more amazing and caring person to share my journey with, through biking or in life.
